What we store

For each answer, we store the assigned waiting variant, its order, your estimate, whether you switched tabs during the wait, holding time for the Holding variant, the colour scheme and input device used, and the time of the answer. A random participation ID connects up to four answers. We do not ask for your name, an account, or your email address.

We use the data to analyse the experiment. We show averages only after ten answers; repeat visits do not count towards averages. Individual answers are not publicly accessible. Answers are automatically deleted after 365 days. Empty, abandoned participations are deleted after 24 hours.

In your browser

Only after a complete participation, we store warten-completed=1 in your browser’s local storage to recognise a repeat visit. You can remove it in your browser data. We use no advertising cookies or external analytics.

If you encounter the reading passage, it is composed from information available in your browser and your activity on this page. Neither that information nor the passage is sent to the server.

Connection and protection

Cloudflare delivers this website from our server. In doing so, Cloudflare processes technical connection data such as your IP address. Our server uses a derived identifier in memory for about an hour to limit excessive requests. Your IP address is not stored with your answers. Technical errors may appear in server logs.
